Mercury in Virgo Musings

Mercury goes direct this Friday, August 26, a dear friend's birthday and a significant personal anniversary in my life path. Retrogrades are always about review, review, review, and as I ponder upon my chosen path, I have been looking intensely at my career, in particular how to connect my healing arts with my internet skills.

The message has been clear to me for awhile, "Focus and Simplify." But what to let go of in order to simplify? What to concentrate on as my focus? My Libra head whirls with the options, weighing and deciding the possibilities.

Interestingly, I have Mars (Action), Pluto (Transformation) and Uranus (Insights) in Virgo (the Healer), the latter two conjunct and opposite Saturn and Chiron in Pisces. Virgo is not our modern notion of the innocent "she who never has had sex" but instead the Vestal Virgin, Priestess of the temple of Vesta, keeper of the hearth the flame, the home, who chooses celibacy as a sacred act. One of her affirmations is "She who comes back Whole unto Herself." After meeting with a sustainability specialist, I looked closely as to what is truly reviving and rejuvenating in my practice of the healing arts.

As a result of this process, I have simplified much - I stopped writing a regular astrology column, hence the sparseness in the last six months posts, as well as stopped doing Astro Chat Live on KZSC radio once a month. I have become a big fan of Google Calendar, both for time management and the ease for clients to book appointments. I have let go of several meetings, a difficult decision as I love the personal relationships created in network marketing.

For my focus, I have shifted from creating websites to having more hypnotherapy clients, as well as continuing to Direct and instruct the Inner Resources: Hypnotherapy program at Twin Lakes College. My partner has been helping me create personal empowerment videos for Youtube, and I am now halfway through the Masters program in Holistic Healing through AIHT.
